Venue: Bride's residence,
Kuala Lumpur.

At my auntie's residence in KL, my mom secures my waist band before declaring me fit to leave for the bride's place.

All ready to go get my bride.
A bouquet of pink roses are on hand
to reinforce my sweet appearance.

Ang Pow packet for Wai Yvonne's younger brother Wai Wah, as he opens the car door to guide me to my bride and new family.

Behind the walls of her bedroom,
the bride tries to suppress her heaving bosom on hearing the entrance of
the groom. Yvonne's motherand uncle
get her veil in place.

Alvin, my younger brother turns on his devastating charm to persuade the bridesmaids to unlock the door and deliver the bride to her husband.

Door opened, blushing bride finally meets grinning groom. Both husband and wife bow three times as a sign of respect .

A roasted pig was placed at the altar, symbolising that the bride
is pure and untainted.

Yvonne and I bowing to pay our respects to her late father at the altar,
asking him for his approval
and blessing.

Offering tea to Yvonne's late father at the altar. The lady in the photo is the "Sam Kek Um" or someone who is well versed in wedding customs, hired to guide the ceremony.

Seving tea to my mother-in-law (seated) who is giving away her precious daughter and placing her into my care.

Yvonne's mom presenting her with a gold necklace during the tea ceremony. Gold signifies prosperity among the Chinese, a must-have metal during weddings.

Kodak moment: a big hug
and kiss for my mother-in-law.

The happy couple
with the mother of the bride.

Yvonne serving tea to Steven,
her brother in law, as her eldest sister,
Wai Mun awaits her turn.

Lai Voon, Yvonne third eldest sister receiving a cup of tea from me. Beside her is Ai Voon, number two in the family.

Raymond cheerfully reaches to accept his tea as his other half Yen Voon, Yvonne's fourth eldest sister, looks on.

Mun Voon (fifth sister) cracks a joke
while savouring her tea.

Wai Wah – man of the house and also
the youngest sibling serving us tea
and in return, receives an ang pow.

Ang pows were handed out
to junior family members.
Here, Wing Yi receives hers.

A group photograph with Yvonne's family and relatives before adjourning for my auntie's place.

At my auntie's place, my father welcomes
his new daughter-in-law with a big hug.
Yvonne is now part of the family.

Auntie Josephine prepared snacks
and food for friends and relatives
who were waiting for our return
from the tea ceremony.

My buddies who came all the way from Penang for the occasion. None of them
got lucky with the bridesmaids –
all returned empty handed

My cousin Basil and his family from Johor also made it for the occasion.
