Today I killed Adrian the bachelor

There really wasn't much trauma or blood loss. The process itself was quite mundane, perhaps an un-befitting end to a gloriously wet, hip-thrusting era that marked my reign as a single horny male.

Yvonne and I had arrived at the Penang Registrar of Marriage early in the day where we waited for a half-hour with our witnesses (Connie & Mun Woh) before being called in to meet the Commissioner of Marriage. Inside, a common-looking man presided over the ceremony by mumbling a few sentences and questions (as he must have done everyday for the past years for thousands of couples before) after which he shuffled some papers for all present to sign.

Thus it was with a mumble and a few pen strokes that the bachelor in me was executed. But as always in Life, every ending opens the door to a new beginning.

Yvonne and I walked in as individuals and emerged married. Whatever tinge of sadness I may feel for the end of my bachelor days is overshadowed by the joy of being complete with the one I love.

If the legal ceremony had none of the ambience befitting the culmination of the most important decision of our lives, I was not in the least bit disappointed. After all, there is still the church wedding, where we will reaffirm our commitment to one another before the presence of the Almighty.

Yvonne and I are very grateful to Connie and Mun Woh for their warm support and for being our witness.
