A VIRTUAL TOUR OF OUR
HOME
have always wanted to have a place of my own, without
paying an arm and a leg for it. And living on Penang Island doesn't really
make it easy at all. A single storey semi-detached house of 3,200 sq ft would
easily be up for grabs for about RM600,000. And at a prime location, the
cost would even be higher. Thus, being realistic, my wife and I decided that
it would be more ideal for us to look at apartments.
And after a year of searching, we finally settled
for an apartment nested among rolling hills, overlooking a lake with a jogging
track. The cool refreshing surrounding was an important deciding factor for
the purchase of this place. The only drawback was that there were about 130
units in this 18-storey high building and multiplied by three blocks, making
the grand total about 400 units. We would have preferred a place with lower
density but the smart finishing and charming environment wooed us into calling
it home.
With months of careful planning and coordination,
we were finally ready to moved in.

Browse through this website of our
little home and my wife and I are more than happy to share with you why
we have done what we have done to our home.
Our main challenge was to fill this 800 sq ft (that
why I've referred to it as 'little') with all that we desired without making
our home too cluttered. We wanted great results on a small budget.
We wanted our home to be a warm haven, a place where
we throw off the cares of the world and relax with family and friends. From
the kitchen where we start our busy days to the bedrooms where we close our
eyes and dream, we want each space to reflect our personal taste and
sensibilities. But we desire that our little home be comfortable and
practical. Designing the look for our home
took meticulous planning from us and our contractor. We took the time
to ask questions and go over every detail to ensure that we acquired what
we've always dreamed of.

Open house
(the real sort)
are a much-loved tradition in Malaysia. Every major festival that rolls along
is an excuse to thrown open the doors, cook up a storm and invite friends
and strangers to partake in the revelry.
This website takes the custom of
open-house to a new, albeit impersonal level.
As with any open house, the visitor
needs no invitation. But in the virtual world, he also need not know the
household either. He discovers, he enters, he admires, and when satisfied,
he leaves quietly.
Suffice it to say that the virtual
open house is an invitation to partake in a visual feast. |
